In a little while.

I’ve got half a dozen doujinshi for sale or trade. I wanna scan them before I post the ad here and on the LJ doujinshi community.

…I wonder what my LJ password is/was?

And one additional craftiness: beet is very demanding to the irrigation. It is especially important to ensure with its moisture during August, the intensive pouring in of its root-crops occurs at this time.

Dear dainty of youngsters. The dear dainty of youngsters will gladden by improbable size and exceptional taste. Nevidanno large, 1 cm in the diameter, peas so are requested into the mouth! Tender and sweet, they are unusually good in the fresh form, they are suitable for the freezing and the canning. Harvest, unpretentious, late-ripening type.

Briefly the basic special features: Peas – complex in the culture plant. Peas occurs sugar and shelling, kruglozernyy and cerebral, dwarfish and tall, early, medium-ripe and late. Peas is exacting to the illumination and it should be located in the solar, protected from the wind sections. Peas – cold-resistant culture, but it cannot be sown into the soil not heated through. Shoots one should conceal with the threat of frost. In the cold soil the substantial part of the seeds is damaged by soil wreckers. Flowers and young pods are sensitive to low temperatures. In peas deep root system; therefore soil they deeply re-dig and loosen peas it does not transfer the close standing of ground water, water-logged and acid soils. Peas prefers lungs, fertile soils with the neutral reaction, but it loves neither surplus of easily accessible nitrogen nor poor soil. On the poor soils the peas is recommended to plant with the strips with a width of 15-25 cm, having preliminarily spilled fissures by compost in the mixture with the complex fertilizers. Seeds sow throughout the entire area of strip at the depth of 3-5 cm, the distance between them 5-10 cm. after sowing soil a little uplotnyayut. The shoots of peas need protection from the birds and the regular loosening of soil around them. Peas requires regular, good irrigation, especially in the hot weather, and especially before and during the flowering. If peas left without the support, then harvest considerably will be lowered. Harvest (green pods) should be gathered every 2-3 days. With the collection of harvest by one hand they hold the stem of plant. The regular collection of harvest stimulates prolonged fruiting. Cerebral sweet peas can be surprised strongly by diseases; therefore one should soblyudat’ crop rotation.

the fruit: Beans are green, are saber-shaped, with the length of 7-8 cm with 7-9 seeds. Young sugar trowel with the rudimentary seeds is used in the food. Use: For the preparation of hot dishes, canning and consumption in the fresh form.

Pea – truly protein treasure. Distinguish types sugar, in which eat fruits together with folds, and shelling, whose folds are inedible. They will sow vegetable pea early, immediately as it will get dry soil. Section remove fertile, solar. Standard of the sowing of approximately 80-120 seeds to the square meter. Undersized types will sow more thickly, full-grown and twisting – are thinner. Are sealed seeds at the depth of 4-7 cm, depending on soil. The seeds seal more deeply on the light, sandy soils, – it is smaller on the clay and the damp. Appear shoots on the 15th day after sowing. Best predecessors of pea on the vegetable-garden – pumpkin, cucumbers, cabbage and potatoes. Fertilizers phosphoric and potassium introduce under the predecessors or in autumn, then fruits become tender and tastier. In the freshlyd-fertilize section pea is botvistym, but poor in beans. Care of pea is reduced to the weeding, and into the drought and to irrigation. At the garden beds of plant they support with the aid of the pegs or the dry branches inserted into the earth. Beans tear away on the 12th day after appearance. Pea moth or tortrix moth is one of the most malicious enemies of pea in the middle strip of Russia. The caterpillars of this wrecker winter in the earth. The departure of butterflies from the cocoon coincides with the flowering of pea. Each butterfly puts aside to leaves, printing block, beans and stems of pea to 200 and more than eggs. In 5-10 days, depending on weather conditions, from the eggs leave the caterpillars, which penetrate inside the beans and live there, feeding by young peas. As a result in the grains remain the worm holes, and often, peas are completely they are destroyed. In 15-20 days, after leaving after themselves the excrements, fastened by cobweb, the caterpillars of tortrix moth leave the pods through the gnawed openings and they get down downward to the earth. Up to the moment of the harvesting of pea the large part of the caterpillars is buried in the soil at the depth 2-2,5 cm. well, and truck farmer remains with the hopeless damaged harvest. It must be noted that the early types of pea are less damaged by moth. So less they suffer from this wrecker of the plant of early it is timetable sowing. To fight with the pea moth help the periodic sprayings of plants by the broths of the wormwood of bitter, tomato vegetable tops, by the infusion of the roots of burdock, leaves of celandine, tobacco and garlic. The infusion of garlic, for example, is prepared as follows: 20 deg of garlic pass through the meat grinder and pour by 10 l of water. Twenty-four hours insist, they strain and sprinkle by this solution of plant, it is desirable, nearer toward the evening. Moreover it is better not to await, when pea moth begins to vandalize on the plants, but to conduct preventive workings. So the infusion of garlic helps also from the pea aphid. Helps with the fight with the moth the powdering of plants by ashes, by tobacco, by the dry powder of celandine. Effective means of protection from the moth are: podzimnyaya of the digging up of section, the early sowing of pea. Some specialists propose as the preventive measure to preheat the seeds before the sowing. Very widespread disease of pea – powdery mildew. It it is possible to manage with the aid of the infusion of the sow-thistle of the field: 300 deg of leaves insist in the bucket of water 8 it is hour. Spraying is conducted twice, with the interval in the week.

Beet is gold globe. Early-ripening type with the ideally equalized root-crops. The extraordinarily attractive exterior view of this beet is combined with the excellent gustatory qualities. Its yellow pulp is very sweet and is tender, without the rings and the coarse fibers. Rounded root-crops 5-6 cm in the diameter are stored well without the loss of gustatory qualities. Furthermore, leaves of this beet are used for the lettuce, its taste resembles spinach. It is irreplaceable for the children’s and dietetic nourishment. Beet makes our life not only tastier, but also it is sweeter. From the special saccharine it is quality the beet obtain sugar. Process this is sufficiently labor-consuming. At the sugar refineries they wash the root-crops of beet, and then cut into pieces. Special machines convert these pieces into the pasty mass. By it fill special bags from the rough fur and place them under the press. Thus is extruded the juice, which in the large boilers boils to the complete expulsion of water. When juice is congealed, the content of saccharose in it reaches 85%. After this, the condensed juice is subjected to the sufficiently complex cleaning, as a result of which is obtained customary to us white granulated sugar. To the appearance of sugar refining from the beet Europe is obliged to commercial war between England and France in the beginning of 19 centuries. The continental blockade, with the aid of which the Englishmen attempted to strangle the regime of Napoleon, doomed Frenchmen to the very nesladkuyu life. The deliveries of sugar from the English colonies, where it was made from the sugar cane, ceased. Then in the country they declared the large reward to that, who will find a way out situation. And soon in sale appeared the local French sugar, obtained from the beet.

You remember that: 1. beet very photophilous plant. Even with the weak shading it can decrease harvest to 20-30%, petomu it in proper time to importantly weed and to thin out. 2. the longer the period of the vegetation of beet, the more in it it is accumulated useful substances. The more intensive painting the pulp of root-crops, the greater in it the vitamin s, betaine.

I bought a new Audiovox SMT 5600 on eBay. It arrived today (I bought it on Wednesday with Buy It Now), and I opened it up, stuck my sim card in and the battery, turned it on, and it worked! Well, not at first. But then I turned my sim card the right way ’round and then it worked!

Then I tried to put the battery door on. It wouldn’t go, because whoever had owned the phone before the company that sold it to me had glued the battery door on. Then, some time later, they had pried it off. Naturally, the glue held fast in some places and there are pieces of plastic still glued to the phone, preventing the battery door from doing its job.

I’ve written to the seller about the phone, and we’ll see. The thing that irks me about it was that the phone was described as ‘like new’, not ‘good’ or ‘okay’. ‘Like new’ means that it could pass as new, or it has a few little cosmetic blemishes. Pieces of the battery door, still glued in place, do not qualify as ‘few minor cosmetic blemishes’, they qualify as ‘large blemish’ or ‘large flaw’. I may still have bought it, if it had been advertised as needing some TLC and/or cheaper.

I suggested that they give me some of my money back if they weren’t inclined to exchange or repair my phone… And I -do- have my old SMT 5600, so I could get a T6 driver and switch pieces around until I have a phone that works. I could also get some nail-polish remover with acetone and try cleaning off the glue that way, too.

I love There She Is! by Sambakza. Imagine my delight when I discovered that there’s a sequel! And it’s just as much fun as the original.

What's My Blog Rated? From Mingle2 - Online Dating

This rating was determined based on the presence of the following words:

* fucking (2x)
* dead (1x)

I’d think that was more along the lines of at _least_ PG-13, if not R, since if I recall correctly ‘fuck’ is one of The Seven Words…

From the “nice people” at the Clarion West workshop. I’m sure the people are nice and it’s a fabulous experience, however… I’d be faaaaaar more inclined to donate money to them and their cause IF THEY DIDN’T ASK FOR $1,700 (US) for the workshop itself AND another $1,200 FOR HOUSING. For those of you too busy to add, that’s a total of $2,900 dollars. Those figures are for I don’t know how many years ago (probably about 2, since the post I mentioned them in said ‘you still have to live in their housing, even if you live in Seattle’), so they’ve probably increased.

Granted, it’s not like I’d ever be chosen for their program nor would I ever make it in the lovely world of writing-for-a-living, but whatever.

So I’ve given Dungeon Runners a try, and now I’ve given them the boot. Not because the game sucks, not at all. In fact, I found the game to be highly entertaining. Where else do you get a game that has a tooltip that says, “This is Karl. Karl’s sign shows you how much XP is required for your next level.”, or a minion named Karl to hold that sign? Or a game where your starting weaponry is described as ‘cardboard scrap [weapon]‘? It’s obvious that NCSoft let their development team have a lot of fun with the creation of the game.

My problem with DR, however, was the laaaaaag. While I have my suspicions that it’s my computer that’s the problem, rather than my internet connection, I can’t rule out that it’s DR’s server (or servers). I also suspect that DR is on one or two servers at the most, since despite the fact that I -always- chose ‘worlds’ with a population of less than 50 people, I _still_ experienced major lag times. And not just in the center of towns, either — when I was the only person in a zone, I’d still suffer from lag. The lag got me killed three or four times in a row, which was when I called it quits.

I can tolerate some lag, because outside of actually being in the server farm and playing on a terminal -there-, there’s no way to avoid lag. When lag gets me killed, though, it stops being an annoyance and becomes a full-blown deal breaker.

I will try both EVEOnline and Dungeon Runners again, when I have a better computer. When that will be, I don’t know…
