01: One of the most memorable comments I’ve ever gotten on my art was, essentially, “After seeing your art, I don’t feel so bad about mine any more!”. English was not the commenter’s first language, so it was a bit more garbled than that, but that was the gist of it. I left it in place because -I- had thought the same thing (about other peoples’ art) but was never brave/foolish enough to mention it — and because I wasn’t upset about it. (The only other comment I can remember was someone that compared my stuff to Klimt, which was ridiculously kind of them.)
02: I have taken some actual drawing classes. Despite this, I still have a hard time with drawing things, either from life or from imagination. It ties in with my lack of interest in getting from point A to point G by going through B, C, D, E, and F — I just want to go -around- those points and arrive at G _now_.
03: Like many (most?) people, I want to do a comic, some day. I found some of my early HappyPear stuff the other day, so I could actually start on that if I wanted to. And perhaps I will…
04: I like colored pencils, crayons, and markers, but I rarely use them. Now that I’m in a place where I can scan things more easily, I may try digitally inking things that I like… And maybe even coloring them.
05: I don’t really have much in the way of outside influences when it comes to my art, at least style-wise. Subject-matter-wise, yes, but other than that, eh.
06: I tend to forget about backgrounds. If I do remember them, I get tired of drawing them rather quickly.
07: The only fan art I’ve ever done is Pokemon-related… And it’s pictures of the creatures themselves, not any of the human characters. [EDIT: This is a lie. I have drawn a Nurse Joy. She's not likely to see the light of day any time soon... Unless there's an overwhelming demand to see my (not-that-great) smutty pictures.]
08: I don’t like using a graphics tablet to try to draw with, because the disconnect between what my hand is doing and what shows up on the screen is too great.
09: I do better with proportions when drawing in a small space. It got me yelled at in drawing class, but oh well.
10: I still can’t draw hands or feet to save my life.
